You can do this without relinking the app if you have shared libraries and if the app does only require the routines emulated by Ygl: With /usr/lib/libYgl.a, make a symbolic link like the following: $ ln -s /usr/lib/libYgl.a /tmp/libgl.a Then find out how to reset the shared libraries search path on your OS; under AIX 3.2 (ksh) do: $ export LIBPATH=/tmp:/lib:/usr/lib Now you can try to start the application. If you receive error messages like "symbol xyz in ksh is undefined", than it won't work, because the application uses GL routines xyz that are not emulated by Ygl...
